Covering Star Cakes with Rolled Fondant

Don’t let the sharp corners of a star cake intimidate you. It’s easy to use your hands to shape fondant around the corners, so you finish with perfectly smooth edges.

step 1

Prepare cake by lightly covering with buttercream icing. Position fondant on cake, smoothing the top with the Easy-Glide Smoother. Form a right angle between your thumb and index finger and gently smooth fondant around each star point.

Trim off excess fondant at bottom with a spatula.

Smooth out sides and bottom edge with the Smoother.
